Canada Disability Benefits Bill C-22 2024 is the supplement for federal, territorial, and provincial disability support including services. It may include a Registered Disability Saving Plan, Child Disability Benefits, and Disability Payment provided through the Canada Pension Plan. Moreover, they have extended the date from 30 to 86 days. So, the public is provided with the opportunity to share their feedback till the 23rd of September 2024. On 29 June 2024, part I was published and will change according to the received feedback on Part II. However, Canada Disability Benefits will begin in July 2025.
Initially, $6.1 Billion will be provided for the first 6 years and $1.4 Billion for ongoing years. However, it will cover all the costs required to deliver the Bill C-22 Canada Disability Benefits. Total funding will cover the increasing awareness costs and all other operating costs. It will also cover the medical forms applied for the Disability Tax Credit and help people address the financial barriers to getting these benefits. The consultation period will be open till the 23rd of September 2024. So, people can share their views and feedback with proposed regulations which are extended from 30 days to 86 days.

I’m actually vastly more concerned by how long it is taking to implement. This isn’t a difficult process, the infrastructure already exists in CPP to take care of this. But instead, we established a whole new bearocracy with comfortable salaries to cut and paste the data of who gets the disability tax credit, and then print cheques (for those that still take them)
2 years and 6.1 billion to do that.
Now my disability is medium/hard – I know people worse off, but everyone’s pain is different. What concerns me are the families who have developmentally delayed children. They aren’t cheap, and their conditions will never go away. We aren’t giving these families support, as it is. Kid is 18? THey can’t go to school any more, they need more medicines, and someone probably has to quit to look after them.
I worry about them – I’m not raking in the cash either, but there is zero reason to avoid paying these people! We’re not even talking about an invisible disability – its about as visible as it gets!
Get on this. Push the timeframe forward. They’re still studying this damn program when they had a substantial budget to study this from 2020 onwards – what a joke.

I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2005 I have no balance I can only walk about 20 to 30 feet I have to rest
What about the people who are 65 and up getting benefits because all our work injuries are considered time injuries ea.mine occurred in 1984 when I was in my 30s and now only have 50% use of arm leg and back why are liberals ignoring the seniors who are suffering now after 65 yrs old
I’m on disability from a car injury and I been on it ever since I’m a single mother barely making it by I been waiting on priority status housing 3 years now and couch surfing with my son and dog . The government definitely isn’t lifting us out of poverty or helping us in any way it’s only gotten worst and promises are just that I haven’t seen any changes .
I have been on disability for over 20 years, and we have been ignored by our government.
They give themselves high raises and us, a cost of living, this is not acceptable.
I believe we as a country and society will be judged by how we treat the disabled and the ones in need, we are not going a good job.
Stop taking about it, time to act now not in a year of two or three, we need help now.
